Upcoming Camping Trip

So I'm planning a family camping trip with my cousins this Friday and Saturday. Still not sure if it's a good idea. How will we entertain ourselves for 2 whole days?! There's only so much one can do at the beach. I'm not much of a water person either so that doesn't help. I hope we can get into board games or something. The hardest part of planning everything was figuring
out how to organize the food. Let's hope everyone brings what they're supposed to and that there's more than enough. It doesn't look like any adults (uncles and aunties) will come. They definitely won't sleep overnight! The thing that ignited the idea of a camping trip was our (my cousins and I) memories of family camping trips we used to go on as kids. Our parents would plan everything and bring everything and all we had to do was go and have fun. And they were fun! We would swim all day, explore the reefs and tide pools, go fishing, play war in the sand, build sand forts, yada, yada, yada. At night, we would go crabbing, explore the reefs and find the different marine life that came out at night, collect the crabs and make them fight each other, make smores around the campfire and check out the cool balloon fish and other stuff the uncles used to catch when they went night diving.

The thing is, I was supposed to move to Dallas in January so the camping trip was supposed to be a going away thing. But, since that fell through, we decided to do it anyway. This time though, my cousins and I are all grown up. They're married and some have or are having kids. So, the shoe's on the other foot now. We are the parents! None of our parents will be there. It'll be interesting. My hope is that this family gathering will be just as fun as "the good ol' days" and that the kids will remember this camping trip with memories just as fond as ours!
