21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

I'm now in to my 13th day of 21 days of fasting and prayer. Let me just say that fasting in Vegas, with the "all you can eat" buffets was kind of hard. The variety of food kept me sane though. I remember Pastor Steve once said that fasting without praying is just starving yourself. So, I guess you could say that while I was in Vegas, I was actually just starving myself! It's hard to find time to pray on a vacation, especially if those you're with aren't Christians. Anyway, not eating any sweets, including juice and sodas and no starches as well, was tough at first. My first three days or so was spent trying to counter attack mean headaches. Guess my body didn't appreciate the lack of those food sources. Another symptom of fasting for me has been crankiness. I get upset rather quickly when I'm hungry and can't find something to eat right away. Limiting the foods that I love the most really doesn't help! I've been learning to be more patient and calm about such things. Could it be that God is teaching me something and I'm actually learning? Well, I've got just over a week left of this fast and I can't wait to eat starch again! I wonder if I'll get headaches when I start my regular diet? Hope not.
